Inside This Month's Gazette

Syndicate content
Since the initiation of Operations ENDURING FREEDOM (OEF) and IRAQI FREEDOM, the Marine Corps has grappled with complex insurgencies that require more than overwhelming force to secure and stabilize the operating environment.
The F–35B Lightning II Joint Strike Fighter (JSF) will be the dominant actor on the networked battlefield. At last, what has until now been a roaring flood of information—video, raw data, coordinates, voice, satellite imagery—will be slowed, channeled, and presented in a useful way.
The Marine Corps has been engaged in combat operations for 8 years. These operations have spanned a spectrum of conflict, but in recent years conventional combat has been overshadowed by counterinsurgency.
